The right people are out there. The work is finding them, attracting them, and building something they want to stay in.
Recruitment | Retention | Strategy
For over a decade I've built recruitment and workforce programs in some of the hardest places to staff in Canada. Remote communities, regional hospitals, distributed networks spread across thousands of kilometres.
What I've learned is that great hiring is less about chasing candidates and more about building places people want to join and reasons they want to stay. Get that right and the roles that once felt impossible start filling themselves.
Selected Work
I've delivered transformational outcomes in distributed networks where operational complexity, geographic constraints, and resource scarcity mirror the challenges of lower-middle market service businesses:
Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority: Building coverage across 34 remote communities. Grew physician coverage from 1.5 to 15 FTEs over four years, plus roughly 100 locum placements, and brought annual premium staffing costs down by about $2.1M.
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre: Keeping a critical department running. Helped a regional tertiary centre hold its surgical capacity through an anesthesiology shortage, protecting roughly $10M in surgical activity.
Northwestern Ontario: A model adopted province wide. Founded a regional recruiters' association that standardized practice across 14 communities and was later recognized by Ontario as a best practice model.
